Dr. Al Lee (director of quantitative analysis at Payscale.com) recently measured the average earnings of individuals with eight or more years in their occupation.
For some of the jobs one could be earning more than $100,000 even without a College degree. A case in point is an ultrasound technician.
Be warned, ultrasound technicians however must rely on overtime to break six figures. There is always an abundance of overtime as it is cheaper for the companies to pay extra overtime than to hire additional employees. But it is possible to earn a six figure income with overtime.
Unfortunately due to the overtime and nature of the work, stress will be a part of this job. As with anyone in the medical profession ultrasound technicians have the possibility of mal practice suits being filed against them, sometimes for reasons out of their control.
